Where Can I Find a Black Soul Gem in Oblivion

Mod Name: Black Soul Gem Altar
Author: BlackerrR
Version: 3.0
Requirements:
 - Oblivion patch v1.2.0416
 - (optional)Shivering Isles

==============
---Introduction---
==============
First of all, sorry for bad english. After 4 years I decided to reinstall Oblivion, as well as to update this mod for my personal use. However, I decided to share it on nexus in case you want to use it too.

=============
---Description---
=============
This is simple mod that adds altars throughout Cyrodiil which you can use to convert any soul gem to Black soul gem. It works exactly as original altars, except the fact that, with this mod, you can use them anytime you want and there aren't those 'purple effects'. You know the procedure, insert empty soul gem in altar, cast soul trap on it and take your prize. In order to avoid this being cheat mod, the weaker the soul gem is, the more of them you need to swap for one black soul gem. So, this is how it works:

- You need 5 empty Petty SGs to swap for one Black SG;
- You need 4 empty Lesser SGs to swap for one Black SG;
- You need 3 empty Common SGs to swap for one Black SG;
- You need 2 empty Greater SGs to swap for one Black SG;
- And ofcourse, you need 1 empty Grand SG to swap for one Black SG.

Say that you place 3 common, 1 grand and 5 petty soul gems in altar and cast Soul Trap once. You've just made 3 black soul gems.
I don't consider this as cheaty mod, because Bethesda should have made BSGs more common. Enjoy.

============
---Locations---
============
All major cities' Mages Guild basements, except:

 - Kvatch: none;
 - Anvil: Mages Guild main hall;
 - Imperial City: Arcane University Tower;
 - Bruma (due the mages guild's story plot): Chapel Undercroft-soul gems might appear stolen, if you have problem with that, open console, click on altar and enter "setownership" and no more stolen gems;
 - Shivering Isles (if installed): Sheogorath's Palace.

===================
Known Issues and Bugs
===================

It seems that, rarely, when you place too much soul gems in altar and cast soul trap on it over and over, it leaves behind few non-black gems despite the fact that they should be removed. It is far from game breaking, but I advice placing one type of soul gem at a time, otherwise if you run across this glitch, you can exploit it for almost infinite number of BSGs. I don't know why that happens, as I said it's nothing serious, but anyway I thought you should know.

==============
---Installation---
==============
There are two versions of this mod; Shivering Isles version and non-SI version. Pick ONLY one .esp file and copy it to you Oblivion\Data folder. Activate BlackSoulGemAltar.esp in Oblivion Launcher (or OBMM, or Wrye Bash) and play.

================
---Uninstallation---
================
1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the .esp file.
2. Delete the .esp file from \Oblivion\Data\

==========
---History---
==========
v3:
 - changed locations of altars as suggested years ago;
 - smaller altars to avoid incompatibility with other mods;
 - now includes only one .esp, to avoid Data folder clutter.
